holisticselling – A More Comprehensive Approach to B2B Selling!

Similar to holistic health, which is a wellness approach that considers the interconnectedness of physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of a person’s well-being, ‘holisticselling’ is a framework that connects all the aspects of a company’s well-being to deliver successful outcomes to the company and its customers.
I have seen other definitions of ‘holistic selling’ on LinkedIn, but I want to take that notion further. My holisticselling framework is based on two fundamental principles:
- Customer centricity. The customers need to be at the center of every decision you make. Your goal is to deliver the right outcomes to your customers. This is the best investment you can make.
- Focus on the front line. In order to meet and exceed customer expectations, the front-line team members (account executives, account managers, solution consultants, services professionals, support teams, customer success managers, etc.) need to be given all the tools and capabilities required to deliver extraordinary experiences to customers and prospects at every moment of truth – consistently, every time.
This is why the holisticselling logo combines two simple design elements:
- An inverse pyramid that puts the customers and the front-line team members at the top, with a focus on servant leadership.
- A circular arrow that starts and ends with the customers. Every decision needs to be made with a focus on customer outcomes.
Sounds simple, right? Well, not quite. In my experience, while companies vow to put the customers at the center of everything they do, very often cultural values, internal processes and performance expectations get in the way of delivering the right outcomes to customers.
This is why I decided to come up with the holisticselling framework and launch a LLC to support its application in the world of B2B selling. I will start describing the framework next week and include key questions to help you determine whether and how to implement it for your company. I have also acquired the holisticselling.com domain and will launch the website over the next few weeks.
